"Harvard Chan students and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Student Group are hosting a benefit to raise funds for Moms Against Poverty (link), a non-profit providing direct relief for communities in Iran affected by the devastating earthquake that occurred on November 12, 2017.
The event will be a celebration of Shabe Yalda, an Iranian festival recognizing the winter solstice, and will include Iranian food from a local restaurant and a performance by Aftab, a Boston-based Iranian dance group."

Nowruz is the name of Persian new year which is celebrated worldwide by the Iranian peoples, along with some other ethno-linguistic groups, as the beginning of the New Year.
In this event we will be serving persian food, playing persian musics, and introduce our culture to all other students. This is a great oppurtunity to find out more about Iran and Persian culture.
